About Peyton
The Foundation of Accessibility:
Peyton Fisher™ , ERYT-500, RYS, YACEP, CH-CBS, RH-CBS, DCLCSJ
Peyton first began his career as a teacher of children with special needs in 1998. This early experience in the classroom cultivated a lifelong commitment to accommodation and modification—ensuring that the practice of yoga is accessible and engaging for everyone, regardless of where they are planted. This belief that every individual should be empowered to engage as fully as they choose remains the heartbeat of his teaching today.
The Executive Leadership Building on this foundation of education and advocacy, Peyton has spent over 25 years in high-level clinical and public health leadership. His professional tenure includes serving as:
- Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Easterseals Southwest Florida
- Regional Director for Louisiana’s Early Intervention Program (EarlySteps)
- Former Director of Quality Assurance for the Louisiana Department of Health – Office for Citizens with Developmental Disabilities (EarlySteps)
- Former Director of Diabetes and Obesity for the Louisiana Department of Health (OPH)
- Director of Medication-Assisted Treatment for the state’s opioid response (LASOR), Louisiana Department of Health, Bureau of Behavioral Health.
In his current role with the Louisiana Primary Care Association, Peyton views health through three essential pillars: Mental, Physical, and Spiritual Wellness.
The Lineage of the Light Peyton’s practice is rooted in the rich lineage of classical and contemporary yoga. His primary teacher, Maureen Bosker of Yoga in the Woods, has been a lifelong mentor. Through Maureen, he carries a lineage that traces back to Beryl Bender (The Hard & The Soft Yoga Retreats, est. 1975) and Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, the founder of Ashtanga Yoga.
Drawing from studies with Kathy McNames, Bryan Kest, and David Swenson, Peyton’s teaching style balances executive-level discipline with spiritual accessibility—ensuring we are "doing our yoga all the time."
